About Me

Hi, I’m Sam. I enjoy design, travel, climbing, and more.

I'm a Pennsylvania native living in Lancaster, PA. I've always enjoyed tinkering and creating new things, which is what got me into the tech world in the first place. I am naturally curious, and I like to solve problems.

The overall goal for my career is to create something meaningful that can help make the world a little better. This goal is what led to me to UX design and engineering. I believe that designers/developers have a unique opportunity to connect people and help them achieve their goals.

Enneagram Type 1: Reformer

Reformers have a strong focus on improvement, integrity and responsibility. They are very detail-oriented and often look for ways to improve. These traits, however, can also lead to self-judgement and feelings of inadequacy. Reformers can find growth when they balance their improvement/perfectionist mindset with an acceptance of imperfections in life. (1)

Core Characteristics:

  • Innate Sense of Right and Wrong

  • Perfectionism

  • Critical Nature

  • Driven by a vision of a better world

  • Attention to Detail

Work Environment

"Type 1s thrive in environments where they can apply their strong sense of ethics, attention to detail, and dedication to quality. They excel in roles that require precision, organization, and a moral framework." (1)

"Workplaces that value integrity, encourage improvement, and recognize the efforts of their employees will see Type 1s at their best." (1)

Non-career stuff

In my personal life, I have a passion for travel and experiences. I also enjoy language learning, and physical pursuits such as snowboarding and rock climbing. I'm also an advocate for minimalism - reducing unnecessary complications in life, wherever possible, that don't add value or attribute to happiness.
